$count will count the number of a specific character in a string.

Format

$count(<string>,<character>)

Parameters

  • <string> The string to work with.
  • <character> The character to count the occurances of in the string.

None.

Points To Note

$count is case-insensitive. There is no $countcs counterpart.

Examples

//echo -a $count(ccc,c)

Output: 3

//echo -a $count(1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9,$chr(32))

Output: 8
